Celebrating the life of

Virgil Holder Burdsal

February 01, 1926 - November 21, 2011

Virgil Holder Burdsal

Virgil H. Burdsal, 85, died Monday, November 21, 2011 at his residence. He was raised in Savannah and lived a life filled with the love of family and friends who knew him as a devoted husband, dad, Uncle Virgil, Zeke, Dagwood and friend. He retired after many years with Savannah Machinery and worked another ten years at Hunter Army Airfield. He was an electrician by trade but was truly a jack of all trades. He was able to "fix" almost anything. His childhood friend, Katherine became his beloved lifelong sweetheart and wife of fifty two years. Mary Katherine McAleer Burdsal preceded him in death by fourteen years but she remained, "the love of his life". He and his wife were charter members of Aldersgate United Methodist Church which they loved and supported. He loved to fish and hunt with his brothers-in-law and family, Red, Tony, Ralph and Scott and others that wanted to tag along. He wanted to thank all of his family and friends that aided him in his later years

Surviving are children, Mary Debbie, Raymond Nancy, Jim Carol, Paul Sandy; six grandchildren, Robert, Brett, Matthew, Diane, Jennifer Olson, Jessica; six great grandchildren.

Memorial Service: 2:30 p.m., Sunday, November 27, 2011 at Aldersgate United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends at the church from 1:30 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. prior to the service.

Remembrances: Aldersgate United Methodist Church, 2020 Tennessee Ave., Savannah, GA 31404.
